狮子、狐狸和驴子

　　狮子、驴子和狐狸结成同盟一起追捕猎物。他们捕获了许多猎物后，狮子就让驴子来分配。老实的驴子没有多想，就把猎物平均分成三份，并请狮子首先挑选。狮子勃然大怒，一下子扑过去就把驴子咬死了。接着狮子又吩咐狐狸来分。狐狸把全部的食物都堆得高高的，让狮子来挑选，只给自己留下可怜的一小部分。狮子觉得狐狸的分配很合理，就问狐狸：“是谁教给你这‘分配的艺术’？”狐狸回答说：“是驴子的不幸让我学会的!”

　　一只狐狸在跨过一条水流湍急的河的时候，不小心被冲到一个又深又窄的山谷中，弄得伤痕累累，躺在地上不能动弹。一群饥饿的吸血虫飞过来把狐狸紧紧围住，拼命吸他的血。这时一只刺猬路过，看到如此悲惨的狐狸，就想帮助他把吸血虫赶走。不料，狐狸说道：“拜托你了，千万不要打扰他们！”刺猬很是不解：“为什么？你难道不希望摆脱他们吗？”狐狸回答道：“不，这些虫子已经吸饱了我的血，就不会再咬我了。如果你把他们赶走，就会有更多饥饿的虫子过来的，到时候我的血会被吸干的。”

　　在改变自己处境的时候，务必要认真考虑。

　　一只狐狸被猎狗追赶，正好碰到一个伐木工。狐狸就向伐木工求救，希望他可以指点一个安全的地方。伐木工建议狐狸躲到自己的小屋里，于是狐狸就钻了进去，呆在一个角落里。

　　猎人带着猎狗追踪到此，就向伐木工询问是否看见一只狐狸经过。伐木工一边说他没看到有狐狸，一边用手指着狐狸藏身的地方。可是，猎人并没有看见他的手势，就急匆匆地带着猎狗离开了。

　　当猎人走了很远，狐狸从那里爬出来，径直地往前走，丝毫没有理会伐木工。有些气愤的伐木工上前拦住狐狸：“哎，你这个忘恩负义的家伙，我救了你的性命，你怎么连一句感恩的话都没有？”狐狸回答他：“事实上，如果你的言语和你的行为一致，我是会非常感激你的。”

　　良知包含语言和行为两个方面。

　　人们经常鄙视自己得不到的东西。（这就是我们经常说的“吃不到葡萄就说葡萄酸”。）

　　一天，狐狸不小心掉进了一口很深的井里，想尽了办法也爬不出去，他只好呆在那里。一只口渴的山羊来到了井边，看见了井里的狐狸，就向他询问井里的水是否好喝。狐狸暗自庆幸自己的好运气，就对山羊说：“这里井水的味道真是好极了!”并建议山羊到井下喝水。

　　一心想解渴的山羊毫不犹豫地就跳了下去。山羊喝足了水，才意识到自己所处的困境，只好和狐狸一起商量出去的办法。这时候，狡猾的狐狸说出了他早已盘算好的主意：“首先，你用前肢顶住墙壁，并且低下头，我踩着你的背往上跳，我出去之后再把你拉上去。”山羊一听开心极了，非常愉快地接受了狐狸的建议。狐狸跳上山羊的后背，撑住犄角，用力一跳就出了井口。他一摆脱困境，拔腿就跑。这时，山羊才明白自己上当了，开始痛骂狐狸背信弃义，而狐狸转过身来说道：“愚蠢的老伙计!如果你脑袋里的智慧可以和你下巴上的胡子一样多，那么你跳下井之前就应该想好该如何爬上来。”

　　年老体衰的狮子躺在山洞里一病不起。除了狐狸，所有的动物们都纷纷前来探望这位德高望重的国王。狼马上想到这是一个陷害狐狸的千载难逢的好机会，于是就在狮子面前搬弄是非，诽谤狐狸：“大王啊，狐狸这么长时间都不来看望您，他是根本没有把您放在眼里啊！”正好狐狸这时候赶到，听到了狼的话。愤怒的狮子对着狐狸大吼，机灵的狐狸急忙恳求解释的机会。他为自己辩解道：“我对陛下是忠心耿耿啊！来探望您的动物们有哪一个能像我这样呢？这些天来我风餐露宿，遍访名医，为您寻求治病的良方。总算是善有善报吧，我终于找到了一个。”狮子听了之后大喜，连忙向狐狸询问治病的方法。狐狸回答说：“这个方法很简单，而且要用的药就在眼前。你把狼的皮剥下来，然后裹在身上，假以时日您的病就会好了！”狮子马上下令把狼拖出去剥掉他的皮。狐狸对气急败坏的狼说：“你应该鼓励你的大王去行善，而不是怂恿他去作恶。”

　　总是生活在陆地上的老鼠，非常不幸地，与多数时间生活在水中的青蛙结成了至交。一天，青蛙搞了一个恶作剧，把老鼠的腿紧紧地和自己的拴在了一起。从此，他们两个就形影不离了。首先，青蛙带着他的朋友去了他们经常觅食的牧场。然后，他又把老鼠带到了他居住的池塘。刚到了池塘的边沿，兴奋的青蛙就跳了进去，尽情享受着戏水的乐趣，全然忘记了他的朋友是不会游泳的。可怜的老鼠很快就窒息而死了，尸体漂浮到水面上。正好被在空中寻找食物的老雕看到了。老雕猛地俯冲下来用爪子把老鼠带到了高空中。由于青蛙和老鼠是绑在一起的，因此可怜的青蛙像一个无法逃脱的囚徒一样，也成了老雕的盘中餐。

　　青蛙们因为没有一位坚强的统治者而犯愁，于是他们派了一个使者去找朱庇特，请求给他们派一个国王。朱庇特看他们头脑简单，就把一块原木扔到池塘里当他们的国王。开始的时候，青蛙们非常害怕这位新来的国王，纷纷躲到了池塘的最深处。但是，他们渐渐发现木头一动也不动，于是就稍稍壮起胆子，回到了水面。甚至还大模大样地骑到木头上。过了一段时间，他们认为拥有这样一位懒惰的国王有损尊严，因此他们要求朱庇特再派给他们一位国王。朱庇特把鳗鱼派给了他们。不久之后，青蛙们就嫌鳗鱼性情太温顺，第三次向朱庇特提出了请求。生气的朱庇特派给他们一只鹭。鹭抓住青蛙，把他们一个个全部吃掉了。
