　　一个只说实话的人和一个只说谎话的人在路上行走。偶然间，他们来到了猿猴王国。一只自封为王的猿猴想知道自己在人类心目中的地位，于是就命令手下把这两个人抓住，向他们询问对自己的评价。同时他还下令，其他的猿猴必须像人类的朝廷仪式那样分站在他的左右两侧。他自己坐在中间的宝座上。

　　一切准备就绪后，他吩咐手下把那两人押到面前来，问他们：“先生们，在你们眼中，我怎么样呢？”总是说谎的人回答说：“很显然，你是一位最有权威的国王。”“那我旁边站着的这些猿猴呢？”那人连忙回答：“他们都是你们王国的栋梁之材，都是达官贵人。”那猿猴国王听了他的这些话，感到非常满意，就赏赐了说谎者很多礼物。

　　那位总是说真话的人看到这种情形，心想：说谎话都可以得到如此多的赏赐，如果我说真话，一定能够得到更多。这时，猿猴国王将目光转向了他，示意他来回答问题。老实人说：“您就是一只猿猴，站在您周围的也是猿猴。我发誓，我说的是实话。”听了他的回答，猿猴国王恼羞成怒，把说真话的人交给手下随意处置。

　　黄鼠狼看见蝙蝠跌在地上，就赶快上前抓住他。这时，已经奄奄一息的蝙蝠不断地哀求黄鼠狼饶命。黄鼠狼回答说：“不可饶恕！因为我是一切鸟类的天敌。”可是蝙蝠说，他是鼠类，不是鸟类。听完蝙蝠的话后，黄鼠狼就把他放了。不久之后，蝙蝠又跌在地上，落入了另外一只黄鼠狼的“魔爪”。蝙蝠再次恳求黄鼠狼放过他。这只黄鼠狼声称痛恨一切鼠类，蝙蝠就说自己不是鼠类，而是鸟类。这只黄鼠狼又放了他。就这样，蝙蝠两次更名换姓，轻易地使自己摆脱了困境。

　　有一只经验非常丰富、成功躲过很多陷阱的老鼠从远处看到了他狡猾的敌人，对他说：“啊，原来你在这里啊！你之所以能成功就是因为你做了这样的伪装啊！”

　　田鼠表示自己愿意去，于是两个朋友就出发去家鼠的住处。家鼠拿出面包、面粉、枣子、无花果、蜂蜜、豆子来热情地招待朋友。田鼠看着这么一大堆美食，眼花缭乱，由衷地羡慕家鼠的幸福生活，抱怨自己命苦。当他们正要开始吃的时候，突然有人把门打开了。两只老鼠立刻慌里慌张地逃到一条狭窄的墙缝里，你挤我，我挤你，难受极了。过了一会儿，他们打算去拿无花果，不料又有人进来了，他们只好再次藏起来。这时候田鼠的肚子虽然还是饿得咕咕叫，却对家鼠说：“朋友，再见吧，尽管你为我准备这么多的美味佳肴，但是我必须要走了。如果每天要过这种提心吊胆的日子，我宁愿继续去啃麦茬和小草去。虽然生活苦一些，但是至少不必担惊受怕。”

　　平平静静地吃粗茶淡饭，胜过提心吊胆地享用酒肉大餐。

　　北风和太阳在争论谁最有本事，并约定能让行人脱掉衣服者为胜。北风开始发威了，可是行人没有脱衣服，反而把衣服裹得更紧了。不甘心失败的北风更加猛烈地呼啸起来，结果行人把衣服越裹越紧，丝毫没有脱衣服的迹象。北风累得筋疲力尽了，只好让太阳一试。太阳释放着自身的热量，行人开始感觉到热，逐渐把身上多余的衣服脱下来。最后，行人实在受不了了，只好脱掉所有的衣服，跑到路旁的小河里洗澡了。

　　说服胜于武力。

　　小河们聚集在一起谴责海洋的不是。他们对海洋说：“为什么我们原本甘甜的淡水一流到你那里，就马上变成了苦涩的咸水，根本不能饮用？”海洋针锋相对地反驳道：“那么，就请各位以后不要再流到我这里，这样你们依旧是甘甜、美味的。”

　　不要把错误都归咎于别人。
